One of the most commonly used options is dentures, which a dentist can fit for a patient soon after a tooth/teeth extraction. This is the only immediate option then, because it takes several months for the bone and gums to reform stably after tooth extraction. A temporary plastic denture will not stay in place for over a few months, since the healing tissues shrink. Complete healing usually takes place in six months, after which a dentist can start making a long-term denture or bridge.
As mentioned above, a dental flipper is a good replacement option for partial dentures. It is basically a pink acrylic plate with artificial teeth. A measurement of your jaw is taken and a mold is made. The spaces for missing teeth are replaced with artificial teeth. Their color is matched with your natural teeth color. The plate is then snapped with pink acrylic snaps to the gums and between the teeth. For an additional cost, you can also get wires with tiny balls, which secure the plate in your mouth. The plate sits snugly against your palate or under the tongue, depending upon the position of the missing teeth.
There are chances of swallowing the chemicals mistakenly. If these chemicals are consumed, you may feel nauseous and even vomit. However, this is rare.
